Is your IIe using an accelerator? If so, have you tried setting the speed
for the Appli-Card slot to "normal"?
I used to run one in a IIgs (doesn't quite fit the case, but that's another
story). I seem to remember the card would run with the slot at "fast", but
it didn't seem to sync up on boot unless the slot was set to normal speed.
This is from 10+ years ago, so I could be remembering incorrectly. :)
