LCDs have a hard time with anything other than their native resolution. The
two LCDs on my desk at work handle 1024x768 OK, but look fuzzy at lower
resolutions. I think they resample the input to a higher resolution...at
least they work better than some old 800x600 notebook displays that simply
duplicated certain rows/columns when running at 640x480. Those were
hideous, unless they also provided the option to just use the center 640x480
pixels in that mode.
