If you can see a battery beside the power supply, it's a ROM3.
To tell a ROM 0 from a ROM 1 look at the ROM chip. It's clearly marked.
The part numbers an the ROM 0 and ROM 1 are the same except the ROM 0
ends in an A while the ROM 1 ends in a B
What if you can't open it? A guess - from looking at the serial numbers
on 6 ROM 3 and 50 ROM 0 or 1 IIgs. All the ROM 3 serial numbers end in
a /A while none of the others do.
All the Woz machines were originally ROM 0 but so many were upgraded
that of the dozens I've run across not one hadn't been upgraded to
ROM 1
Some of the earlier ROM 0 machines also had defective VGCs. Later
ones didn't.
Defective VGC's: AMI 344SOO46-1 and AMI 344SOO46-A
Anything else is fine
