Right you are. I just thought it was cool to see in a 2002 novel (time referenced to 1983 - I know that because I'm a Phillies fan, and that was the year they lost to the Orioles in the "I-95" series, which is also referred to in the book) with references to the Apple IIe, it's green monitor, and Wordstar.
