That is absolutely correct... I assumed that since it matches the IIgs
in both style and colour it must be a gs monitor. Naturally I opted
not to check the clearly marked model info tag on the back...

That is very likely the problem as I'm using a very frail-looking
stereo connector that is about 6 ft long on the computer and some
fancy gold-plated thing on the DVD... when I get the monitor back I'll
grab the fancy cable for myself ;-)
