It certainly should. Ditto for //c (apart from original ROM). The firmware
limit is 126 (or perhaps 127) drives.
Not that it is not just power - it is also signal degradation with all
those drives attached to the same pins on the IWM chip (unless of course
each drive regenerates all the signals between its input and output connector).
