Well, that was because, at the time the Mac was Localtalk only and the
Gatorbox was create to let the Mac access Ethernet... At that time a Mac
could only communicate and therefore configure via localtalk.
Now we are using them to connect Localtalk only GSs to Mac/Ethernet
networks. The only Gatorbox utilities are on the Mac so one needs to juggle
a bit. (or byte)
