IIgs ROM 00 Should Support GS/OS 5.0.4.
It does not make sense that IIgs ROM 00 can only run P16/Finder version
3.x while ROM 01/03 run GS/OS version 5.x. I understand that both ROM 00
and ROM 01/03 use the same 65816 microprocessor.
I believe that both banks $FE-FF has its own GS/OS routines rather than
native machine language. It is why GS/OS v5.x always access to the bank
$FE-FF routines before it is loaded into memory.
It may be possible to let GS/OS v5.x and v6.x to be running on IIgs ROM
00 without loading bank $FE-FF routines. I can modify GS/OSs v6.x to read
all the routines from floppy disks into memory without needing to read from
bank $FE-FF. It will work. What do you think?
You may notice that IIgs ROM 01 loads ROM 03's both bank $FC-$FD into
memory from floppy disks. It is the same example.
