Go to www.apple2history.org for the custom //e you talk about. It's in the
museum, under Custom Computers section.

I have a really cool case mod I did on a //e. Thing is I did it 18 years ago.
Back in '84 I wanted a computer and couldn't afford a //e on my technicians
budget. The shop I was working for lost their Apple dealership (thanks,
Sculley!), and they sold me their Apple //e spares kit for $200. Got a
motherboard and a keyboard.

Found a 70's Wang dual casette player case, and a Wank keyboard case. Put
the motherboard in the bottom of the case, and found a couple of drive mechs
and put them where the casette players were. Lots of customizing, but I had me
a unique computer. I still have it, and maybe someday I'll clean it back up
and take some pics of it.
