Re: trading policy for IIe

And on and on and on it goes...

Piracy is killing the Apple II developers! Is being a developer for the Apple
II anything like being a developer for a Ford Edsel?

I'll bet putting "Apple II Developer" on your resume will open a lot of doors.
I cannot believe that this argument over developers and the exchange of
software for the Apple II continues. On and on and on and on...

Somewhere in this thread, or the departure of Dr. Tom thread, the point was
brought up about hardware. Why do you need new software if there isn't new
hardware? What hardware can be developed for the Apple II to bring it anywhere
near a G4 or a Pentium 4? NADA, nothing, Zip, zero.

Enjoy the Apple II's while they work and while you can continue to get parts
for it. Lose the piracy issue. It is dead! No one is going to end up in court
over the copying of Apple II software. Sure you can get accounts cancelled but
it's not going to stop a thing.

Developers, lose the title. You are hobbyists! Developers are people who
develop new and innovative devices for current platforms.

With that I open the door to the usual people to respond with the same old
tired lines. I won't develop because of pirates. I can't make a living because
of pirates. Pirates are evil and are killing the Apple II. I have heard so many
times how Dr. Tom was "on drugs" - you people act as though you are! The 70's
and 80's are over. Lose the leisure suits, put away the BeeGee's albums and
stumble into the 21st century. Play with your Apple II but start using and
developing for real computers (G4s & Pentium 4s). Then if you want to complain
about piracy and lost income as a developer I will support you. Right now you
need to go outside and take a deep breath. Turn on the TV, Charlie's Angels
isn't on anymore. Get real and get a life!

You may now begin responing with your same old, dead, tired lines and
responses.
