If you will be satisfied with running the VGA adapter in CGA mode, then
it might be possible, though CGA is digital RGB and the IIgs monitor is
analog, an adaptation here is not difficult.

The fundamental problem is that the IIgs monitor (or _any_ Apple II
compatible monitor) runs at NTSC (or PAL) scanning frequencies,
with horizontal scan around 15.75KHz.  This is the _only_ frequency
that the monitors will run at.
