Re: trading policy for IIe

Hello all,

What is the current policy (if such a thing exists) on trading software for
the IIe?

Set by whom?

I'm assuming "trading" means making a copy for you, of a piece of software that I have (some call this piracy.)

Some will trade anything
Some will only trade stuff that can't be bought anywhere anymore
Some will only trade stuff that is pd/share/freeware

Except for a very few programs (and anything ever made by Microsoft) there are no penalties for trading stuff that is still copyrighted, simply because the copyright holders are trying to defend currently selling products, rather than products sold a long time ago. However, please keep in mind, that there are a few people still producing and supporting software, and they, at least, are worthy of all possible support, including refusal to trade, and, I think, reporting those who do.

For example: Yesterday, it was announced that one person, who had pulled work that had been copied and traded around, is now making it available again. Little, if any, of that work interests me, but I think everyone should do all that they can to protect that work from unauthorized "trading".

Thanks,

Norm.
