That's okay. It was expected that your good friends and neighbours from
Estonia would help you over the line. Before the vote, the British
presenter, Terry Wogan, bet the audience that Estonia would give Latvia 12
points. He was right, of course.

Estonia and Latvia are the Greece and Cyprus of the Baltic.  :-)

But, for all that, it was still a deserving win. And she looked rather nice
after removing the hat and coat to reveal the dress. Before then I was
beginning to worry that the performance was based on some strange lesbian
rite (hmmm). And it was one of the few acts that weren't cheap rip-offs of
established American songs (the acts from Sweden and Estonia come to mind -
what cheek!) or imported foreign workers to do their singing for them (like
Greece renting their artists from Honda Japan's humanoid robotics division).
