What I would want is "mostly" MUCH greater speed. While 32 bit data bus and address bus might be nice (esp data for SPEED), the nicest thing would be a pin compatible 65816 that was dual clocked, so that while the IIgs ran at 2.8 mhz, the CPU ran 3-5 times faster. Of course, an onboard cache (64K?) would certainly help....

I don't see much being done with a 32 bit 6502, who would port Linux to it? How many people use GNO now?


But getting greater speed without trying to buy the super rare turbo boards... that's the ticket.

OR, if you could create a 65816 that ran at, say 32 mhz (I once read that the 65816 should have been capable of 99 mhz) and had a turbo card that would run like that, supplying DMA to an onboard 8 megs of RAM, with an on board IDE and ethernet - hey, I'd easily cough up $100 - $200 for something like that.

    I appreciate that you are going to share with your ideas because 6502 is
the most famous popular in the world that we want to expand beyond
limitation like x86 into Pentium.....
