David, if you have over loaded your power supply, in my experience, you will notice it by the machine rebooting itself.

Another problem with alot of cards, is a lot of heat. Either run a system saver on the machine, or perhaps have the lid off (I don't like that idea) or have a small (6") fan nearby (but not too close to the monitor) blowing over the machine.
