An amusing aside...

When Bill Heineman first got Ultima I ported to GS/OS, he sent me a copy
of the earliest version for a look-see. I thought he was nuts, and told
him so. Why's that, you wonder...

He had just simply recompiled Ultima I so that it was a GS/OS-based Sys16
file. That was the only change. All the graphics were the original
graphics, and let's just say that they were seriously lacking in
resolution. And, for some reason, I mis-understood and thought that the
very first working version was the final release version.

But, then Bill recruited his team - Scott Everts to re-do all the
graphics, and Tony Gonzalez to add a MidiSynth soundtrack - and needless
to say, the results were kinda stunning. As you can tell from the
screen-shots online.
