That's about right, assuming the non-existant "typical" machine.

The RGB monitor will run about 75-80 watts, with the computer using
about 15-35, depending on what peripheral cards are plugged in (and
operating, in the case of the Focus).

As you can see, the monitor is the biggie--and leaving monitors on
continuously is about as beneficial as leaving a color TV on all the time.
(In other words, it _isn't_.)

And a 100 watt load on 24 hours per day will require 2.4 KWH per day.
Electricity rates vary, but $0.10 per KWH isn't a bad average (ugh!), so
a typical daily cost is about a quarter.  Your refrigerator will use several
times that, and your air conditioner will make everything else pale in
comparison.  ;-(
