Re: Creating/copying disk images

I have poked around the groups to no avail; hoping that someone can advise.

I have some old Appleworks files on 5.25 floppy that I would like to extract
and run on an emulator OR just dump the text to a file/printer. They are
older documents that I need to get access to.

I have a 5.25 PC with Win95 that I can physically stick the disk into; what
software can I use to do any of the above? At the very least I would like
to just be able to see the text even if it's unformatted; ASCII is ASCII,
right (file system differences aside)?

Please don't assume that I know what you're talking about in a response; I
am almost completely unfamiliar with the goings on in the Apple II world
since I left it about 8 years ago. Treat me like I'm dumb (HEY! Not too
dumb!! ;) ).

Thanks!!!!

Can't read the apple disk on an IBM compatible onluss you happen to be one of the lucky few folks out there that has a copy II option board, which I know you don't have, otherwise you probably wouldn't be asking.

To read the disk, you are going to need a real apple II. Fromn there, you can either copy the files to a 1.44 ms-dos floppy if the apple II has a superdrive controller (most do not) or transfer the files to the PC using a communications program if the appple has a serial port.
