I think that you are not correct. Are you referring to the part that reads:

"... for use with the SWTP graphics board that I have ... The Apple II low
resolution graphics mode is 40 X 47, but my graphics board is a little
better since it's resolution is 64 X 96 ... but my graphics board is only
black and white"

Or this part:

"The Apple I's onboard video memory was capable of displaying text only.
With the addition of the [SWTP] GT-6144 Graphics Board, the Apple I could
display primitive black and white graphics."

If third-party expansion cards can count as standard Apple I features, then
in the same line of thinking, the Apple IIgs computer has a video resolution
of 1024x768 with 256 colors. Mine does. What is that you say? Not everybody
has a Second Sight card? Does that matter? Not everyone had a Southwest
Technical Products Corporation Graphics Terminal System (for "8080 type" and
SWTPC 6800 Computer Systems). Does that matter? I suppose since you could
hook up an SWTPC PR-40 printer card, the Apple I had built-in 40-column
printing abilities as well...

Also from the very same AppleFritter site:

"Edmond's Apple I Specifications
...
VIDEO OUTPUT: ... Format: 40 char/line, 24 lines, with automatic scrolling
...
Display Memory: Dynamic shift registers (1K x 7)"

The "40x24 characters" is repeated many, many, many times on this site. This
also matches the description of the Apple I on the www.apple2history.org
site: "There was no speaker, no graphics, and no color." Perhaps you should
read through everything there as well, if you have not already done so. Read
slowly and carefully.

To sum up:
THE _APPLE I_ DID NOT HAVE ANY GRAPHICS MODES.

Now for the helpful, friendly part of my post... If you are really trying to
get help with your emulator (?) project, and/or you really want to learn, I
would suggest the following:

1. Read as much as you can about the Apple II (and I / III / Mac). There is
plenty of information to be found on the web, as well as in printed
material.
2. If you are stuck on something, want another opinion, or just have
something cool to share, stick out your neck and post here.
3. Assume that most people who answer you already know more about the Apple
II than you do. They probably do.
4. Do not be so quick to tell someone that you are right and they are wrong.
It is quite possible, but see #3.

Have fun!
