Also true...what some of us want to know is: Why? It just had to be an
Apple issue.
Currently the older Mac OS I'm running on any machine is 8.1. It was
really annoying during one upgrade, (I don't remember exactly which one)
that you could no longer stick Apple II floppies in a Mac that had file
sharing on.
You know, I just thought of something. Most likely all of the code for
doing that was 68K and in the move to PPC in later OSes (where they were
dropping a lot of 68K code) they just didn't bother to program it in.
Of course that doesn't explain 8.1 which runs on a 68040 but still won't
do II floppies and file sharing at the same time.
