No, you don't.

For ProDOS-8, the driver is built into the firmware of the card, so you
can use it without any special software.  You do need software to
partition a hard drive, but Apple's HDSCPARTITION application is not
very useful (the HS SCSI version is limited to 4 partitions).

You are much better off locating a copy of Chinook SCSI Utilities, which
supports up to nine partitions and is generally a lot nicer to use.

If you want to use the card with GS/OS (on a IIgs), then all the
necessary drivers and support software are included on the system disks,
as long as you are running System 5.0.4 or later.  For earlier system
versions, you needed updated drivers which were included with the card.

GS/OS also includes Advanced Disk Utility, which can be used to
partition a hard drive.
