But that seems to be the crux of Nyder's (and others) issue - why is this stuff being sold, why isn't it free, rhetorically speaking.

Legally speaking, much of the software on the Internet available for download for the Apple II series is still under valid copyright. We simply choose to ignore it and few are enforcing their rights.

I agree that it would be preferrable if the materials were freely available, but I don't see anything wrong with charging for physical media and printed manuals considering there is a valid license to do so. The main issue here, which is why the thread began, is that he is not delivering the products people have paid for.
