Awesomeness!  Can't wait to try this out.  You had the guts and skills (and time) to pull this through, while the idea laid idle in a lot of folks' TODO list (including mine).

Thank you for doing this.  The mere fact of being rewritten in Java should now make it easier to read the code, fix bugs, and port to other non-C platforms.  Unless, of course, you introduced bugs during the port ;-)
