I looked at this again last night and it's really odd. The game still
works and if you move the cursor in the window that's not showing up
and click a command (like go north) it will work properly (this is
hard to do though since you can't see what you're doing). Likewise
the drop down menus will still work, but an part of them that goes
through that missing window does not appear. It's odd, it's like the
graphics aren't loading so nothing appears there, but the game still
runs. Very odd.

I’ve just tested this on Sweet 16 with System 6.0.1 from my ‘Board and Role Playing Games’ hard drive image and I’m not having any problems. I played the game to its conclusion back in the day and never had any problems. I can’t remember if I had a Transwarp at that particular time – I don’t think I did, but I’m sure I never had problems with the ZipGSX.

The game itself uses the standard Apple GUI – no tricky graphics tricks employed. About the only unusual graphics thing it does do is it changes the IIGS border colours. For example, you can tell if guards are a approaching in the streets of Same Mercon when you break into houses to steal stuff. I think border colours change when successfully mastering new spells, or failing to as well.

Have you got another IIGS to test on? :-) Are you copying all the relevant files to the hard drive? Double check with the IIGS Reference card included with the manual documentation here:
