Yeah- if these drives were still worth $400 I wouldn't suggest this. Now
that they are worthless, it was no big deal to give it a try. It works on
those drives I listed.  Good point to bring up- if the drive was handed down
to you from your grandfather and has great sentimental value, best not to
mess with it. If it's one of a dozen in a pile in your garage, have at it.
