You may not be able to read the 3.5 inch IIGS disk on the mac - depends on what type of mac it is - the newer ones do NOT support GCR format disks. So if you have the latest g4 or I mac, you ar eout of luck.

I can't figure out the IIgs command for copying a 5.25" disk to a 3.5"
disk.

There are no copy commands in the apple II command line os'es (ie: prodos 8 or dos 3.3)

Anyway, you can't do a diskcopy of 2 diffenet sizes - you need to do a file copy. But agfain, there are no built in copy commands in the command line os'es. for dos 3.3 there was a prpgram called FID that will do file copies (no good, since dos 3.3 will not work with 3.5" drives) and ofr prodos I believe it was called the prodos filer of sumpthin like that - comes on the prodos system disk (NOT the system disk you describe below)

Additionally, I have a "system disk" for it, that boots to a
mac-finder-like desktop. I could drag and drop the files, however I

can't figure out how to make that program sniff the 5.25" drive.

Is the dektop in color? if so, you are running some version of GS/OS. You MAY need to get the original install disks for it and install the apple 5.25 inch floppy driver perhaps?

Or if this is a B/W desktop, you have the old prodos 16 desktop gui thing (forget what it was called) and that should just see the 5.25 drives just fine with no changes. Actually, I was under the impression GS/OS would as well (even without the 5.25 driver) but since you say you can't see the 5.25 drive...

OR, it could be... are the 5.25" drives plugged into an add on card (like a disk II controller?) If so, did you change the GS/OS control panel slots settings to "your card" for the appropriate slot?
