They are IDE. But an "8 bit" version of IDE which has 16 data lines.
If you go through the archives of the newsgroup there was a detailed
description of what the Vulcans were in the last 6 months.
Apparently later (true 16 bit) drives) won't work in the Vulcan. Don't
know how true it is though.
