You don't tell CP/M software to use 80-col cards, you tell CP/M itself to
use it.  And you don't evne need to tell CP/M this, because CP/M
detects the presence of an 80-col card automatically and uses it if it's
present.  You must put the 80-col card in slot 3 of course.

CP/M was able to recognize only a limited number of 80-column cards
of course - so it's possible your 80-col card is of a kind that
your CP/M is not familiar with.
