--> Thanks for that info, as well.  Hadn't thought of that (series of)
    tool(s), either - been away from my IIe, for too long, I guess...

    I see on the Timeout Filemaster box, that it "Displays up to 100
    file names on the screen at one time where they can be printed for
    handy reference."  If I can print to file (disk) instead of just to
    a printer - then that's an `on-hand' option, as well.  I have
    AWKs 3 & 4 - so T.O should work OK with them.  Great!  Now I have
    at least two avenues for gertting a directory listing to file!!

    Thanks for all the input, folks - t'is appreciated.  This place
    (NG) can be a fantastic user resource and I, for one, am so glad
    that it exists and that A2 aficionados populate it.
