Hm. Sounds like memory corruption to me. You may have faulty RAM, or
misbehaving software.
Try disabling all extensions (by holding down the shift key during
startup) and see if the problem still occurs.
Does it only affect a particular folder? If so, the problem might be
something to do with the icon for one of the files in that folder - you
might have a corrupted icon file, for example. Another possibility is
that the normally invisible Finder.Data file for that folder may be
corrupted.
