The versions of CP/M I have are 2.x for both Microsoft and AE, both originals. Would it be legal for someone to give me a more recent version? Or do you think the license is "per version"?
Well, first of all you'd neet to get the more recent version - the only one there is is 3.0 - running. CP/M 3.0 needs a different BIOS (the platform , e.g. Apple, dependent component) from the one that works with CP/M 2.2. Also 3.0 doesn't make much sense unless you have 128K. At 64K 2.2 runs better.
No idea if anybody ever ported CP/M 3.0 e.g. to a IIe with Softcard and Extended 80 col. I don't know if the Apple supports "Common RAM" in the way CP/M 3.0 needs it.
