My mind is a bit foggy, but don't some releases of ProDOS check for original ROM contents to purposefully prevent their being used on clones? If your clone uses EPROMs as ROMs, and you have access to an EPROM programmer, you might try installing ROMs with original Apple II+ content (which is of course not legal, so consider yourself warned!)
