Our IIgs is still on its original (1986) power supply modified to swap in
heavy leads.
The IIgs is a ROM-01 with 4MB Expansion memory, ZipGSX accelerator, RamFAST
SCSI, Focus HardCard, MockingBoard, TDX IIgs Stereo card, and Sound input
digitizer board. So, it is fairly loaded (though not as heavily as systems which
add the PC Transporter and Second Sight boards). There is a SystemSaver-GS sitting
on top to pull cool air into the case; but, we've never used any internal fans.
The main limitation on the original PS is the pissant leads that connect to
the motherboard. These limit the current you can draw to something less than about
2.5 Amps on the +5V line. You can dram more current; but, by then, you have
glitching problems due to noise and low motherboard voltages.
