Re: Blurry Apple II GS RGB Monitor

Almost DEFINITELY the flyback.

Not expensive, but ya need to solder to replace it, and there is the whole anode discharge issue (BRRZZZAAAAAAP!!!!!!)

Don't ry to fix it yourself unless ya know what you are doing - could get a NASTY shock even with the monitor unplugged from power!!!

My GS RGB monitor goes blurry after about 10 minutes of use.

I have tried adjusting the focus control and this fixes it but when I

switch

off the monitor and let it cool off and then fire it up again, it starts

off

blurry and gradually after about 10 minutes goes into focus as I had set
previously.

So I can have it either sharp for the first 10 minutes or sharp AFTER 10
minutes.

Any ideas as what could be causing this "drift"?

It's either the CRT or the flyback transformer. Neither is worth replacing,
try to find another monitor. You're lucky you can adjust it enough to use
it.
