Read my post again...the power-supply circuitry is already dual-voltage-
capable. You could wire a switch in where Apple put a jumper wire and flip
it between 120 and 240. (Besides, in a switching power supply, the
transformer usually isn't necessarily responsible for converting the input
voltage...it's way too small to handle the power supply's rated power output
at 50/60 Hz. I'm not 100% sure how the input voltage is handled, but if I
had to guess, it would be something like this: When running on 120, the
input section (some capacitors and diodes) could run as a voltage doubler;
when running on 240, the input section could run as a full-wave
rectifier/filter. You would get the same output (about 340V, or maybe a bit
less) in either case, which would then be cut down to the appropriate levels
by the switching regulator and everything that follows it.)
