No. The internal drive in the IIc+ is a "dumb" drive just like the
platinum 3.5, without the 65c02 and RAM. But the mechanisms of these
drives, including the older Mac 800K drives, are interchangeable. I
can't recall if the drive in the IIc+ had a separate analog board.
I believe someone who posts here mentioned that they took the board from
a UniDisk and placed it inside a platinum 3.5 drive. There would be some
hacking involved as the housings differ between the two. I was thinking
of doing this since I have a board salvaged from an extremely distressed
UniDisk.
