Yes, and where has it gotten us? To the overtly intrusive hoops you have to jump through to register Windows XP just to get it to function.

Could take a looong time as long as there are alternatives. (Linux, FreeBSD, maybe Mac)
People who accept using Windows under the aforementioned conditions do it to themselves. By now they should *know* there are things like Linux, and if they choose to use Windows instead, including the disadvantages it incorporates, that's their problem.
