Mr. Fixit (Volume Repair) is definitely affected by Y2K, and in fact should not
be used without the fix.

Glen's fix was very, very interesting at the time, however, it violated Apple's
guidelines (misguided, in hindsight) to limit the years to 1-99 instead of
1-127. Even people from Apple Computer, Inc. warned us rather strongly against
using Glen's patch tp ProDos. In their words, "A disk with a year of 100 is a
damaged disk."

The biggest advantage to Glen's fix was that it allowed Cat Doctor to sort the
years correctly, i.e., 00 came after 99. The biggest drawback was that it
confused the heck out of every other 8-bit program which was written within
Apple's guidelines (including some of Glen's own), so some further patching was
necessary. Thus the warning not to share files.

My fixes take care of a lot of important issues, from on-screen date displays
to Mr. Fixit wiping the dates, but they cannot make Cat Doctor or AppleWorks
5.1 sort the years. 00 will always come before 99, unfortunately. Same for
AppleWorks 5.1....
