Thanks for taking a lead, Brian. I'm not sure if there is sufficient
need/traffic for such a group but I'll add my 2p anyway.

IMHO, the name the group (in addition to its charter and FAQs) should
make it quite clear that it does not cater for "Macintosh problems". To
me, "legacy" suggests that the group discusses any product that is no
longer supported by Apple (eg most 680x0 Macs). In a year or two,
"legacy" could easily be taken to mean anything that doesn't run OSX.
That really doesn't do much for those of use who own and use Apple IIIs
and Lisas.

The name "comp.sys.apple.non-macintosh" may be a bit of a mouthful but
it's pretty self explanatory.
