The "zero" is just a Focus Drive without the 2.5" hard disk drive attached.
Most (but not all) 2.5" IDE drives can be bolted to the card and will work.
(See the Alltech page for recommended drive manufacturers.)
It is possible to use an adapter from the mini-IDE connector to the
"standard" 40-conductor cable and connectors for use with external
3.5" drives. Power would also have to be adapted, since IIRC, +12v
is not supplied to 2.5" drives.
The Focus Card is an especially compact hard disk solution if a 2.5"
drive is bolted to the card, as intended. These drives are quite inexpensive
now in low-gigabyte sizes, and are often available used for a song.
