Re: Problem (of sorts) with //c

After a week or so the problem reared its ugly head again. I missed it
before, but it appeared that the disk drive chassis was touching a small
electrolytic capacitor (maybe) that I must have accidently bent backward
before.

After I bent back the cap and tested the disk drive the short was no
more, but the drive no longer wanted to work properly. It fired up about
half the time but didn't read/write. I was still able to access the
external drives. Though a dirty head wouldn't explain it not starting
half the time, I cleaned them anyway. No deal.

When I swapped drives with another //c, it shorted in it. ;)

I got fifteen years of very heavy use from this drive, so I can't
complain.
