Apple II newbie... please help!

i have just aquired an Apple //e by chance [my teacher was throwing it out, i
took it instead].  I would like to use it, but i dont know how!  I dont have
any software for it, and when i turn it on, it just says 'Apple //e' on the top
of the screen.  I do have an external 5.25 floppy disk drive.  I definately
want to put this to  use, perhaps with games or programming, but i dont even
begin to understand how to do any of this.  If I could get any help, such as
where to get games, and how to get to some sort of command line [again, all i
see on the screen is 'Apple //e'], it would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.
