Can someone help me with modem to modem transfer?
(My only option apparently, I only have a rev B iMac and a
GS with ROM 00 and 512K ram)
I have a ProDos disk and a Modem Manager disk, a
Global Village modem with the right cable.
I'm using Appleworks 5 on the Mac,
--------------------------------
Serial Tool
the same baud rate on both (I've tried 19,2000 and 1200)
Parity-none
Data bits 8
Stop bits 1
Handshake various
I've tried <ATA and ATX3D>.
<ATA and ATA>
<ATX3D and ATX3D>
And any other combo I could think of .
The modems have made a lot of racket but the end result is
always a *no carrier* message.
I'm very interested in making this GS work, I've run a few programs
under emulation, and while that works quite well I'd much rather
use the real thing.
Speaking of emulation, I've only been able to download and run dsk.
images. I've tried to get .shk files with Netscape,iCab,IE,and FTP
but always get a corrupt file message when I try to unshrink them.
Any info which assumes I have knowledge of ProDos commands or
experience with any system other than Macintosh may be useless
to me as this is my first experience with any sort of Dos or
command line OS.
Any help will be greatly appreciated
