No, there's more to a ZipChip than its 65c02 core. The accelerator
allows the CPU to run at increased speed while leaving motherboard's
speed unchanged. If the motherboard were to run at different clock the
system's timing would be out of sync and your machine would likely not
function.

Accelerators are complex pieces of hardware. I don't think anyone's
built once since the big Apple II companies shut down. A real  shame too
since Apple IIes really shine with one onboard.
