Re: Hard Drive Size

John,

This is my BASIC reply :)...
REM: repartitioning your drive WILL erase your old data, even if some of the
partition sizes aren't changed...
Did you re-partition the drive, or just try to re-format part of it as HFS ?
IF you just re-formatted it as HFS, THEN you need to re-partition it to
resize the partitions first, before formatting them; GOTO END.
ELSE
IF you re-partitioned the drive with Focus Formatter THEN read on...
ELSE goto END. :)
You are probably not doing anything wrong as I have run into this problem
myself on my Focus drive.
I am guessing you have a Focus Drive and are using the Focus Formatter
program.
If so that _IS_ the problem. There is a bug in Focus Formatter which only
shows up randomly depending on your drive size. When partitioning try to
reduce the last partition by one or two clicks from maximum after dragging
the slider to maximum size.
After this you will need to reformat each partition and re-load your
software. After re-loading System 6.0.1 (I assume that's what you are using)
making sure to add the HFS.FST you need to reboot, then re-format the last
partition as HFS, where you will then be able to make full use of the
remaining space.

Mark
END.
