With 64K x 1 bit chips, the circuitry on the motherboard takes
on bit from the first chip and one bit from the second chip and
one bit from the third chip etc etc where the address of the bit
is the same and makes up one 8-bit byte. Hence each 8-bits
are stored across the chips. The address of the bus points to
the same bit on each chip and pulls off one bit from each chip
to make the byte pointed to by the address. Does this make
any sense? It is pretty simple.
