Hi All,
I recently purchase an Apple IIGS from EBay. After playing around with
it for a couple of days I tried running the diagnostics utility. After
it had been running for a couple of minutes I tried cancling the test as
it seemed to have got stuck (Being used to Windoze PC's computers
hanging is something I am used to). The test still seemed to be stuck
so I tried reseting the PC. Since then whenever I start up the PC it
goes into a self diagnostics mode, finishing with an error "System Bad:
07000000". Haveing looked at the FAQ at
http://home.swbell.net/rubywand/A2FAQs2CONTENT.html I found that this
sort of error apears to be related the system clock (I assume the
real-time clock). So far I have tried:
Removing all additional hardware from the PC (Memory & Parallel card)
Removing, testing and replacing the system battery (The voltage on the
battery is reading just over 3.6v which looks to be correct).
Pressing a number of different key combinations to cancel the self test.
Does anyone have any ideas? Is there some way I can skip the test or
does someone have more details on the error.
The details of the system are:
ROM 03
1mb RAM + 1mb on Apple expansion card
ADB Mouse/Keyboard
Standard Apple FDHD
Also while I'm here does anyone know where I could get a copy of the
manuals for the PC in an electronic format.
Regards,
Rory
