Installing OS6.01 -> IIgs hangs........

Anyway, when I use the Install/System disk(s) to attempt booting up
[ROM01] what happens is that a Logo appears and a red Scrollbar begins
filling [left to right] but about halfway through this a beep is
sounded, the bar continues to fill until full and then.......nothing,
not even an error message.
What's wrong and what should be done ?
