Hi,
I would like to know how to store my back-up IIgs and related parts
to protect them from an EMP ? Would a completely enclose them in in a
Aluminum foil bag work? Aluminum bag , cover with aluminum screen cover
with another aluminum foil bag? Does the bag have to grounded? Is
grounding bad?
For those that do not know an EMP means electromagnetic pulse. This
is created by the explosion of A-bomb. It only last a fraction of a
second, causes a voltage like spike in all electronics even if they are
not on or plugged in. This could happen if an A Bomb was exploded many
miles above in the upper atmosphere. You would not hear or feel it. You
might not even see it. The military has all of their stuff hardened.
They spray a gold plasma layer on all the electronics so they will still
work.
If I am going to store many of my back up Apples might as well do it
right all the way. At least a few might survive. Even if I do not.
Take Care
George
