Fontpimp: Aargh!!!

What am I doing wrong???  I've copied a ton of Windows TTF files to my Mac
via CD (showing up as type TEXT, of course), and am trying to convert them
with FontPimp to Mac-style fonts.  No matter which one I pick (from a
sampling of "core" Windows 98 fonts), *NONE* of them will convert...I select
the font I want from the list, create a directory to put the converted font
in, click "Save", and *poof*...nothing happens.  Repeat ad infinitum.  Use
ResEdit on the Mac to try to hack other filetypes to make it work.  Make
problem even worse.  Tear hear out.  :(
